#WCGALP
Special shout out to postdoc Pablo Dominguez-Castaño who led the work, and can be seen presenting it for example at the WCGALP later this summer!

I uploaded a copy of the 9th WCGALP archive at nmbu.org/wcgalp/09/ . this was from a CD I received then. If anybody has other archives of WCGALP, they can also be uploaded here. Or, if there is copyright issues, these will be deleted.

I expect an email from the #WCGALP expressing their support for this posthaste.
#ASGCT2026 had a dedicated area with rescue puppies you could play with and I hereby demand every science conference has this going forward. @darthbluesky.bsky.social

Arrived in Madison, Wisconsin for the World Congress on Genetics in Livestock Production (WCGALP) meeting and as a former Wisconsinite living in Texas I found some cheese curds and a great beer at the Great Dane Pub.

What a week at WCGALP 2026 🐄

We're returning home inspired, energised, and excited about the opportunities ahead.

OK, cool, you can't search for papers by Nick Wu or Bingjie Li by surname in the WCGALP 2026 digital archive because the search tool requires your string include at least 3 characters. You can sort-of spoof it by just adding a space. I can't believe it's 2026 and we're running into these situations.

It just occurred to me that I don't know how WCGALP proceedings are licensed, and I don't want my work to end up scraped into some LLM slop. Hm.

I appreciate my talk at #WCGALP falling on my birthday, I guess? I'm sure lots of folks will be at a 3:30 PM presentation instead of drinking beer on the terrace, right?
June 18, 2026 at 3:33 PM
If I'm reading this e-mail correctly, the #WCGALP organizers are asking that people upload their slides 3 weeks before the talks, and I think that I should be more bold in what I ask of others. I mean.

Did they really sort the authors alphabetically so that EVERY "How to Cite" block for EVERY WCGALP 2026 paper is wrong?!

More great stories from WCGALP 🐄🐕 Frances Chen on genotyping pipelines for working dog breeders, Jesse Hoff of Grimmius Cattle on bringing genotyping in-house, and our own Justin Kos leading a workshop on moving from microarrays to AVITI™. Great conversations all around! 🧬

I'm not really sure what's going on with wcgalp.org (the online archinve for WCGALP meetings, but none of the links seem to work. The good news is that the Wayback Machine archive works OK.
