If you listen to the NA5B WebSDR, the AM band (mediumwave) receiver defaults to 1500 kHz, which because the SDR is located in the greater Washington D.C. area means you get WFED-AM, the privately-run Federal News Radio station. Bask in the bureaucracy!

Lots of federal management talk, other Washington stuff as recorded on a WebSDR in the Washington D.C. area. Recorded just because the band was longish; you can hear the stations next door on either s...

Before 2025, all disease surveillance data in Raph's province in PNG lived in Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and was manually reviewed. He taught himself to code, studying at 4am, and built a live dashboard to track them in real time.

Marvellous little film about a boy visiting Hergé at his studio (we also see Bob de Moor, I think) in 1979 and a very grey and wintry Brussels. Love the Thompson Twins wandering around as well.

After the devastating Australian black summer bushfires, we went into the field, investigating bushfire risk factors for livestock. The result? The first systematic investigation of its kind which identified key risk areas and developed a comprehensive preparedness manual for producers. #WFED

This is John Snow. No, not *that* one.
During a cholera outbreak in 1854, John used data collection, spatial mapping, and reasoning to show cholera was waterborne, tracing it to the Broad Street pump. His groundbreaking work reshaped how we understand disease outbreaks.
Thanks John! @TEPHINET
