Great to bring Climate Trunk to the Oxford World Forum hosted by the @smithschool.ox.ac.uk.

Under the watchful eye of a fairly stern-looking former don, 20 Trunk visuals brightened up the wall a bit.

It’s #FursuitFriday before what’ll be a historic #WFS50 furbowl for FurLife: Pacific NW Furries tomorrow! We’re going to sell out all 50 lanes in the largest event in our host center’s 65-year history 🤯

We’ve had 900+ fursuiters join over the last 6 WFSs. So happy to put this on for the community!

Last week to submit your abstracts for the Wide-Field Slitless Spectroscopy workshop at @stsci.edu in August! Particularly exciting if you're interested in learning more about the new MIRI WFSS mode coming in Cycle 5, and VERY timely for the launch of Roman. 🔭

These data were taken before the WFSS mode “real“, so all the reduction and calibration is done to a reasonable standard with what was publicly available (and my own code 👩‍💻). We are now ramping up the full suite of reference files & pipeline algorithms for this mode - improving all the time.

• In the Milky Way, JWST had studied star-forming areas. In the Small Magellanic Clouds, it found brown dwarf candidates.

• JWST has studied planet-forming disks around stars, studying their chemistry, dynamics, and longevity under different local conditions.

Observatory operations and efficiency are continuing to improve.

Planning tools, pipeline, and calibration reference file updates help to do things like avoid "claws" from scattered light from bright objects and correct for 1/f noise.
