The Boys gather around a campfire of conversation to talk lovingly about what we look for in the armies we collect. Plus: listener responses and possibly some off topic nonsense. Who could possibly know.

Yeah, WHFRP 4E is d100 roll under, I think, and WHTOW is dice pools. Stat defines how many dice you roll and skill tells you the target number.

Another commission I did for a player in a Warhammer Fantasy campaign I was in, featuring @catmelstuff.bsky.social's bear beastman of Slaanesh and another player's owl sorceror of Tzeentch giving a nice deepthroat~!

You did sell me on buying and reading fantasycraft, I’ll still have to see if the rules section really convinces me. WHTOW seems pretty nice though, the combat looks good and the magic miscast thing is cool. Maybe I’ll try doing a oneshot with it.

I’m feeling a strong urge to pick up expensive plastic. I already have expensive plastic at home but what if I want to play a *different* game I don’t have time to play??? 😫 #warhammer #wh40k #whaos #whtow

My local news gaming shop Diss Games in South Norfolk, UK are looking for #Warhammer #TheOldWorld #WHTOW players.
They've got a decent #WH40k and #AoS player base now but so far one regular is into The Old World but can't find any players at the moment.
Pic for attention.

It could easily be a Daemon Prince for WHTOW, 40k, or AOS. It can be for any game that features cool daemon guys. It looks rad!

My wife is Navajo and does traditional beadwork as her hobby and business. She encouraged me (and said it was okay, haha) to use native fire colors in my tomb kings army. This is the first time I've painted it on and my god this is going to be beautiful. #Miniatures #Warhammer #WHtOW #Painting

Is there a succinct term for how sometimes providing a specific ttrpg character with an ability, that ability stops being universal by default?
(WHTOW has "literacy" as a talent, which means everyone without it--3 out of 4 the PCs--can't read)

If 40% of WHTOW PCs are Empire humans and 20% of them have the faith talent, what are the odds everyone in a four-PC party has the faith talent? 0.00004096? About one chance in 24,000?

One day left and one model left to go for my #whtow tournament. Just need my #Chaos Lord ready to really join his fellow horsemen and I'll be thrilled, and on top of that a fully painted 2.5k points! First fully painted army ever!

Who knows if I’ll ever actually *play* a game of Warhammer Old World. In the meantime, I’m having fun assembling models, and I can’t wait to get them painted. Love me some classic WH orc goodness! #amassembling #WHTOW #TOW

There really is nothing to be done beyond that. Its fine if you are concerned about longevity, as non-core armies fall behind further and further in terms of updates and models. But keep in mind that they are going to have to update those armies at some point to keep WHTOW from getting stagnant.

They're not going to give that reassurance because that backs them into a hard corner. Legends is already where dead units/armies are parked. There's nothing more to be done with them. That's what the non-core WHTOW armies are like. Again, they've given you PDF rules and said they won't be updated.

Thank you and likewise. Yes, it can be interesting to mix, also the other way around. Some models from GW are also suited for historical. I love Dogs of War and have a an army but have small hopes on seeing them in WHTOW. But maybe one day.

I'd play WHTOW (I kinda loathe rand and file wargames) with old school Fimirs.

Probably the only WHTOW release I've been properly interested in.
If only to cannibalize the parts for Eldar Kitbashes.
