"I know; you've become quite the well known bounty hunter since we were last here. How many big shots have you taken down lately?" Rosa feels her cheeks burn, casting her gaze towards the dirt. It's not that she was ashamed of her 'main job'—she had to make money somehow—but part of her hated the feeling of blood on her hands. The way the deaths, their screams and final pleading looks, stuck with her for far, far too long. "It's another reason I'm so desperate to have you join our crew, ya know. You're incredibly capable; it's why I don't want anyone else to scoop you up first." The woman rolls her eyes. "I'm not suited for a life of piracy. I need solid ground beneath my feet—a place to call home I can come back to at the end of a long day." "Who's to say the ship can't be your home? That we can't be your family?" His grip on her wrist is loose, just enough to keep her there but easy enough to pull away from should she choose, and she knows his calloused fingertips can feel her erratic heartbeat. Rosa swallows. "I…" Shanks steps closer, taking hold of her chin and forcing her to meet his gaze. Her mouth goes dry as the world around her grows silent. "I won't ask you to decide now, and I'll never force you. Just…promise me you'll think about it?" His eyes, so dark, so endless, have a faint glow to them. Like all of his hope was fighting to burst forth for her to see. Those obsidian eyes draw her in closer. She rises to the tips of her toes, fingers digging into the fabric of his tunic as her lips ghost against his own. "I promise." And she seals the promise with a kiss. Desperate, heated, and filled with all the words and feelings she couldn't bring herself to face. Not now.
