Halloween is coming up that means it's time for @amummy.bsky.social and I to watch Wakewood, one of the best folk horror movies to ever exist

Galem Wakewood, human witch of the shadows 😌✨

Pet Sematary: long slow build as to the death and zombie rebirth

WakeWood: Naw, dead child BLAM, five minutes in

oh hey cool! Wakewood!

Is this going to be a Wakewood situation? Or is the kid coming back as a murder rabbit?
Don't tell me if you know. I'm having fun speculating.

First one is Galem Wakewood ☺️ she was my pathfinder 1e human witch. Her mom died when she was very young so she lived with her grandma, the town’s healer before she met Shades, the raccoon. She didn’t know at the time he was her new familiar sent by her patron 🌚 the shadows 🌚

This movie actually kind of reminds me of Wakewood.

hey! Wakewood is on Shudder! Go give it a watch. Like the Wickerman meets Pet Sematary done by Hammer Horror

fun times

wait, should we watch it saturday for #horrorwatch? hmmmm

I wish bluesky had polls

Frightfest Film 4: Imposters. Went in expecting folk horror about child loss ala Wakewood, ended up with a sci-fi head spinner with a deliciously intricate plot. Again, great performances from the two leaders and an excellent start to the day. Pet Semetary meets TimeCrimes :) 7.5/10

Was going to watch the Endless since I'm in the mood for weird time loop horror...but it looks like it's gone from Shudder! Put on Wakewood instead, just because it's a good movie

tis the season (I want to watch Wakewood again)

this year when everything calms down, i will be doing Aidan Gillen Quest. it's a fun challenge where i force mummy to sit and watch Aidan Gillen's entire discography with me. the upside of this is i get to watch Wakewood again. the downside is Maze Runner 2 and 3

I feel like one is called Wakewood and the other is called The Ruins?

huh. A lot of the editing techniques in Wakewood are mirrors of those used in Don't Look Now. I really think this has to be on purpose, given the subject matter of both movies

The Missing Parts Monday answers! Correct if you said, The Ruins and Wake Wood.

#missingpartsmonday #TheRuins #scottbsmith #wakewood #hammerfilms

Both great films; especially Wakewood, Timothy Spall is fab. Raises some interesting questions. Of course you would lie. Who wouldn’t?

The first thing that came to mind is Wakewood. But there is also a great Irish changeling film that I cannot remember the name of that would fit the bill. I will try to remember it's name.

YES! Tell me what you think about it, for sure. I know the writer/director made another movie after it (The Red Tree), but it's not as good as Wakewood (IMHO). It's def 10x better than the Pet Sematary remake, for sure.
