Areas including the central Walbran and Fairy Creek are deferred from logging until the Pacheedaht First Nation completes a resource stewardship plan, in a process Elected Chief Jeff Jones said may be wrapped up by year’s end.

For the last couple of years I have just been shooting photos on my iPhone14 Pro. Lately I have been thinking of picking up a Sony a6 series crop sensor mirrorless camera again. I have an a7rii but it is too big & bulky, my old a6400 took great photos like this one

We’re disheartened about the situation unfolding in the Upper Walbran area. Logging irreplaceable old growth is one of many symptoms of an industry in crisis, and blockades are a result of government inaction.

NOW: RCMP headed to blockade protecting old growth trees in upper Walbran. Helicopter overhead, convoy seen en route.

RCMP say “there is currently no police enforcement action.” But that can change at any moment.
