Arcade action: OpenGW for AmigaOS 4 and MorphOS Open Geometry Wars (OpenGW, video) is intended to be a faithful recreation in C++ of the 2003 Xbox game Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved. Eleven years ago, Juha 'capehill' Niemimäki used this source code to create an SDL2 implementation and published it on GitHub. Yannick 'Papiosaur' Buchys released his own SDL2 conversion for MorphOS at the end of November including some parts from Niemimäki's version, and George 'walkero' Sokianos yesterday made version 1.2 of his port for AmigaOS 4 available, which mainly uses the source code of the MorphOS version but also adds its own improvements. Both developers exchanged source codes and are supporting each other in the implementation of the ports. (dr) [News message: 08.
