I'm old enough to remember when an E. coli outbreak in Walkerton (not an Indigenous community) led to an inquiry and province-wide changes in water safety standards. Meanwhile, many Indigenous communities *still* have boil water advisories after years or even decades.

Hamilton knows better. Privatization of Hamilton's water in the 90s was a disaster - millions of litres of raw sewage leaked into Hamilton harbour and hundreds of homes were flooded.
Public water management is safe and cost-effective and we must protect it.
