I think Mercator is grand (look up "The Mercator Redemption") but every few years like clockwork, it gets picked on.
I'm not saying it's a good wallmap. Just that people should stop the uncritical adoption of *any* proposed alternative (including Equal Earth, AuthaGraph, Hobo-Dyer, Peters, ...)
