Running a Seiko VH-31 sweep hand quartz movement, it's tempting me to do a Hydro-Mod. But why? It's rated to 20 bar as it is.

The fit and finish on the Watchdives is comparable to the 2.5x expensive San Martin SN0121T-GA (itself a Watchdives collaboration), but the proportions are closer to my Tudor Pelagos especially the bezel ring edge thickness. The use of 316L vs titanium is less apparent on the watch head vs the strap

I now have this bracelet on my Watchdives WD5513 V2 and it has transformed it from a watch that looks like a vintage Rolex Submariner but feels like a modern one with a cheap third party clasp... to one that both looks and feels like a vintage Submariner.

Watchdives have outdone themselves with this Explorer clomage. It's a touch lighter than I remember of the original but pretty much everything about this is perfect.
I urge caution as it's made me badly desire the Rolex. If you have better self-control than I, buy this instead (it cost me $109).

I just got this Watchdives WD16500 a clomage of the Rolex Cosmograph Daytona ref. M126500LN-0001. It's uncanny valley close; I only see the differences to the Rolex rather than appreciating it for what it is; a decent quartz chronograph that's comfortable and good looking.

If you want a Rolex Explorer II ish watch but aren't keen on the $10k+ second hand market price, I think a Watchdives Pioneer WD16570B V2 with an automatic Hangzhou 6460 Hi-Beat (28,800 bph) movement is a better bet than the $5k Tudor and will only cost you $169 from the factory.

It's so close that I only see the differences, but a great watch in its own right.

The visual and tactile differences between this Watchdives and the Rolex are even more subtle and the WD is better in some ways, not to mention even cheaper than the San Martin vs Tudor by a factor of ten.

This version has a colourway vaguely reminiscent of the Omega Flight Qualified, though that has only two sub dials.
Of course this only cost me $120; about right for a fun watch.

I was never totally happy with the clasp that came with the $99 Watchdives Pioneer. I've had many such clasps but for some reason that one wasn't easy to lock.
Anyway, I replaced it with this generic Aliexpress Oysterlock clasp and it's SO much better. A good daily wear alternative to an Explorer.

I was never totally happy with the clasp that came with the $99 Watchdives Pioneer. I've had many such clasps but for some reason that one wasn't easy to lock.
Anyway, I replaced it with this generic Aliexpress Oysterlock clasp and it's SO much better. A good daily wear alternative to an Explorer.

I'll keep tempting you, but this update isn't so good. Despite being quartz, I've discovered it's running hours slow per day right out of the box. There's definitely something wrong with it and it'll be a good test of Watchdives online store to see how they respond.

The Watchdives WD0014 is a homage to the Rolex GMT-Master II ref.16710 of 1989-2007 with an aluminum bezel and a NH34 traveller GMT movement. This cost me only $189 and is a good watch for the money, but if you really want a 16710, this won't scratch the itch, it'll just irritate it.
