Under Jim Crow, business leaders sometimes complained that the system of separate bathrooms, waterfountains, and waiting rooms was losing money. But they were afraid of white supremacist terrorists (and their fans in legislatures) so they lost money to keep them happy.
I think businesses’ willingness to lose money for the sake of bigotry gets underestimated by a lot of people

Before the buildings in Barcelona were plumbed with water lines, the residents used to carry their buckets down to these sources of water each morning for their daily use. I can only imagine a line of people waiting their turn to fill up their buckets. #waterfountains #photography #barcelona

I mean, these people just want everyone they don't agree with to have to access to bathrooms waterfountains, healthcare, they just want them to not exist. Applying logic to it is insane it's just I hate different people they get nothing I hopw they leave or even better die.
