#Waterbrush
Today's good things:
I realised I can fit a lot of my watercolours in this little tin, so they're coming along with me to #WeeCon <3
Might be able to draw sth nice while being away after all!
Did I pack the sparkling colours for Wee Jon purposes? Maybe ✨️

they’re slightly too long 😔 i’m probably going to make some sort of loop holder for the waterbrush i use

Third attempt. Second one only with a fountain pen and an aquabrush. Given I only need the tools you see here, I can do this whereever I am. Still so much to learn and train, but this is so promising, and fun to explore.

I also used toilet paper for a watercolor technique.

With the waterbrush supplied from Mondo Llama.

Geisha/geiko/geigi every day in October (GEDIO) 2026 day 19.

A Mondo Llama watercolor brush painting of a Japanese Geigi (Geisha) dancing with her red fans in Niigata, Japan, in the ochaya

I made this painting in my Hapikalor watercolor sketchbook.

#inktober2026 - Day 4: #cactus
For this one I used a waterproof Uni Pin fine line pen, a water-soluble Berol manuscript handwriting pen, and a waterbrush.
Whether practicing your drawing, showing your skills or enjoying looking at the results, I hope you're having a great #inktober!

[I Can't Help But See A Bit Of Myself In You]
A quick and dirty piece I made with the waterbrush tool. Waterbrush painting is really good for when I have those ideas in mind that I REALLY wanna get out but can't be assed to tediously do all the lineart and such.

Another Saturday morning coffee sketch. This was a cappuccino instead of my usual flat white but I don’t think it affects the latte art so much. I’ve been in a bad mood this week, but even so I find joy in making art. #watercolor #LatteArt #UrbanSketch

6th thing she does not like: watercolor markers.

"Why not just use watercolors?"

Me: portability mostly.

"You can't mix the colors"

Me: you can, but you gotta move fast. Grab the colors you wanna mix, draw, apply waterbrush before it dries. I will grant you that they are somewhat gimmicky.

i used to hate using charcoal bc of how smudgy it is but i figured out that if you go over it with a waterbrush it kind of sets it a bit so it doesnt smudge nearly as much and you can use it to blend as well

Waterbrush on a UniBall signo is fun.

I had some I wasn't using, but after the Jetstream/MD and Jetstream/Tomoe River thing, I have more use for them

ive never been a coloured pencil person, which makes it a little weird that ive been collecting these since high school 🫠 back then, id use them with a waterbrush directly to the lead, and sneakily colour in my sketchbook during classes – using a watercolour palette felt too obvious lol…

the brushes I use are the escoda barroco synthetic, but before having them I mostly used a waterbrush! hope this has been helpful!

I found a portable inkwash method I like…!

One waterbrush with diluted black fountain pen ink,
one with diluted *grey* fountain pen ink,
and one waterbrush with just water.

For lighter tones I just squeeze drops from the diluted ones onto a palette, add more pure water from the pure one… then mix

Today’s sketches. I haven’t quite got my travel kit right I think. These are Derwent inktense half pans, so stronger colour than watercolours and once dry can’t be lifted. Used both squirrel mop and waterbrush. I think I want a compact kit with space to make up proper washes. Well … blame the tools.

Today's sketch... The holbein waterbrush was a *bit* too wet... Lol. Should have wiped off the water first, since the brush gets a bit squished inside the bag and so the brush tip is extra wet.
