The townspeople of Watlington are banding together to buy shops on their High Street, so they can “let them at fair rents to tenants who benefit the town” and keep them out of the hands of “landlords who want to maximise their yield”. They are raising £600,000 and have targeted three properties.

Watlington – AI-ometer: 0/5

We are guessing this is some kind of subversive Dadaist take on the Town of Culture competition, because we genuinely don’t see how an aerial shot of Watlington Industrial Estate, home of injection moulding specialists D&E Plastics, screams “culture”. Anyone?

Ok, answer time! Piece A is from Viking Watlington hoard & B comes from Iron Age Snettisham site.

However, I (& @trixranderson.bsky.social) suspect both could be Iron Age & that Watlington piece could be more evidence of Viking theft!!

But piece A is very small so it's difficult to be certain...

Watlington P Risborough (pronounced Riz Bo Ro): A large crass American industrialist that dresses entirely in tweed regardless of the outside temperature. The locals don’t want his type around; buying up all of the country mills. You also don’t want to see this man eat as he has zero table manners.
