The Wauseon City Council voted unanimously to request ODOT set a 45 mph speed limit on State Route 108, despite residents’ pleas for a new traffic survey and concerns about increased crashes near the hospital and senior center.

The Wauseon Recreation Association presented a 65,000-square-foot vision with courts, turf, STEM space and a funding plan centered on a Joint Recreation District, revenue bonds, grants, and nonprofit fundraising; presenters requested formal partnership with the city and schools.

Councillors heard a presentation from Nicole Sajak of Arcadius on a granular activated carbon system to reduce trihalomethanes and other contaminants at Wauseon's water treatment plant, and voted to place a resolution authorizing a state loan application on the agenda; the resolution passed on first reading.
