A roughly spherical nest made out of mud, placed on a plank near a wall. Woods are seen in the distance. A small wax moth stands in front of the entrance. He has no mouth and shows symbol of moth with his hands. Unlike most of other insects in this comic, he has 5 fingers on each hand. Waxmoth (in hand signs): Did you know that great wax moth can hear sounds as high as 300 kHz? Humans (whatever that is), for example, can hear only up to roughly 20 kHz. The wax moth is surrounded by visions of everything: an atom, a roaring tiger, a creaking tree, a trumping elephant, a galaxy, a bat and a whale. Behind him a blue wavy spiral spins, indicating electromagnetic waves. Moth's face is brightened by the light of the galaxy. He shows the sign of Everything. Waxmoth: I hear everything! I hear the forces that hold the Universe together! The scene with full nest, next to wax moth stands a long and lean mud dauber Wespa (a solitary wasp, owner of the nest) and a bombardier beetle Bob. The moth shows sign for Reasonable. Waxmoth: But within a reasonable distance, of course, couple kilometres tops. Wespa: That's good and all, but what are you doing at my nest? A flashback to the moment Waxmoth was born. He pokes out of a honeycomb, and looked at by a baffled bee. Below the image of flashback is current Waxmoth, showing sign of Born. Waxmoth: Oh, I was born here! Long time ago, when here was a big hive, I just wanted to return to the roots, so to speak. Mind if I stay?

This suggestion has caught Wespa completely off-guard. Wespa: Oh, wow, uh, could you excuse us for a moment? She leaned closer to Bob, covering her mouth so that Waxmoth won't hear her (as if it would help). Wespa: That hive was gone long before me, the guy must be ancient. Do moths even live that long? Bob only shrugged. Waxmoth appears from above, excited to hear their decision. It is hard to tell, on what he stands though, as there isn't supposed to be anything there, and most of his body is outside the edges of the image. Full nest scene again. Waxmoth shows sign for Eternal. Wespa: I, uh... don't know how to put it politely. I'm kinda saving food for my future children, and I don't want some geezer to eat it and then die in my house, sorry. Waxmoth: Oh, don't worry, I have no mouth and don't need food, I am also immortal for some reason.

When she recognised the face, it was indeed to late: it was Lenny, carrying a tiny oil lamp on a tip of his head. Wespa was so dumbfounded by this, she didn't even move at all. - Hey! Also keep in mind, that not everything depicted in my comic is scientifically accurate, so if you are really interested or would like to quote, you should search a bit about them before doing that. I usually use naming which will make it easiest to search online.
Another tenant, Waxmoth the mute wax moth with exceptional hearing, arrived too. - I knew there was something fishy about all this, - Wespa murmured. - He-he, whoops! I should've mentioned that earlier, it's just that I'm kind of a bad parent and I thought that someone more responsible would take better care of my egg! Gary looked at her through a jewellers' loupe, estimating Cookie's potential value. As a parasite eater he is most interested in eating high-quality product. - It's perfectly harmless, it'll just peacefully hatch, - she continued, and her voice becoming quieter and turning to mumble with every word, - and then eat all your food, your eggs and probably you. Waxmoth, however, heard everything perfectly and was quite noticeably shocked. - Come again? - Wespa asked, looking at Cookie's text lines trough a magnifying glass. - I said you are very kind and responsible and would make a way better parent than I to ky egg! - And Cookie started mumbling again. - And my larva will enjoy feasting on your unborn babies and your intestines. Another tenant, Bob the bombardier beetle, arrived too. Wespa finally noticed that everyone is here, and asked Waxmoth for help. - What did she say? - Nothing good, I presume, - said Gary, tying up a handkerchief around his heck and readying eating utensils. Waxmoth made a vague sign depicting that what Coockie said was exceptionally bad. - That bad? - Wespa whispered. Waxmoth made the most shocked hundred yard stare expression he could master, with pointy zigzag spiralling around him, signifying overwhelming terror. - I see...

She quickly grabbed Bob and directed his butt at unwanted guest. - And this charming fella is Bob's butt! Cookie was defeated and had to flee with her rear aflame, while Wespa and her friends waved fists at her. Only Gary was a bit disappointed, as his lunch got away. It was a calm warm day somewhere in Eastern Asia. A small mud dauber Wespa was sweeping away some dust in front of her spherical clay house. She's probably humming a tune, probably Bacon Pancakes. - Oh, hi! - said someone in trembling high-pitched voice. It turns out that behind her landed an unfamiliar bee, holding some odd round object. - Hello? - said Wespa, putting away her broom. - I'm your new neighbour, a carpenter bee from nearby farm! - said the stranger, who's name is Cookie, by the way. - I've got a present for you! - Oh, that's so nice of you... - Wespa reached for the round object, but suspicion made her hesitate. - Wait, is that an egg? At that moment a small pseudoscorpion Gary, one of Wespa's tenants, got here, attracted by the sound of commotion. - Het, Wespa, watchu- oof! Be careful with that one, it's a cuckoo bee, highly parasitic!

- I'll go find you a bed. And she left. Waxmoth quickly ran towards his new merry neighbour and signed "Welcome to the club!" They soon bonded over their love of music: Waxmoth slamming beats on his drum set, while Gary sang, making sick lute jams. Wespa, on the other hand, wasn't very happy with it, trying to sleep and all. The peace would soon return to their house once again, of course, but for now a Narrator tells his usual tale in a soothing voice: - On a bright side, Gary really had academic knowledge of all types of parasites. Far-far away a small speckled brown bird is sitting in her nest on a high sturdy branch, clouds move slowly below, and even farther down are canopies of trees. Barely discernable dark-green speck with words "Le me" pointing at it, resides next to the bird. - I was a small pseudoscorpion, born in bird's nest, Eating parasites night and in day, I was grounded to that place, same as the rest, Dreaming of running away Soon Gary hatched a brilliant plan: he hid in feathers of bird to travel with her, and apparently is quite fond of himself. - And one day I hid in down feathers of bird and waited until her next flight To travel and see all the wonders of world, That will soon appear in my sight - I was so excited, when travels begun Couldn't wait to look at it all! But as I leaned forward, my stepping was gone, Which lead to my tragic downfall! Oh-oh! To my tragic downfall! - And then I landed square on your face, Very gorgeous, if I might say, I'm so tired after this dangerous race, I'll eat parasites if you let me stay! Gary ended his song, looking puppy-eyed at Wespa and her neighbours Bob and Waxmoth, - a wax moth, who soon joined them after hearing the singing. - Wow, you actually wrote a song, - Wespa said wearily, folding her chair.

It is a calm warm day, soft breeze is gently rocking the trees not so far away from a simple painted wooden window sill. This sill is a home of a mud dauber named Wespa - a slender wasp, which builds her nest out of mud. She had a long work week, and now is about to have some rest: she places a deck chair to lie down and tan for a bit. - Finally, a nice moment of peace after a long busy week, - she smiles, unfolding a chaise-longue. She put her sunglasses and sat on a chair, unfolding a sun tan reflector. - Aah - Wespa sighed in relief as she laid down, closing her eyes. Suddenly some barely discernable noise echoed somewhere above, reminiscent to a screeching of a tiny, cute, but aggressive brain-eating animal from a 1998 shooter video game loved by millions of fans worldwide. Soon the screeching became too clear and loud to ignore. Wespa raised her sunglasses and looked up, visibly regretting this decision, as she had to squint hard against the sun. And that very moment a small tick-like creature with two long thin claws slammed on her face after what seems to be a very big fall.

If you recall our shed chest freezer short out. I removed the panel and the desiccated remains of rattus rattus finding one chewed on wire - so after cleaning, now have a working backup freezer. I’ll use it to freeze/kill waxmoth eggs/larvae before storing the #honeybee frames for the winter.
