migraine baddies i found an app that tells you when pressure shifts are going to try to kill your head. its called weatherx. Theyre trying to sell earplugs to mitigate this, no idea if it actually helps (subscription model earplugs lmao so id venture no) but the app works w/o purchase and is useful

I finally got some WeatherX earplugs for barometric migraine. It has an associated app that alerts you to weather changes & tells you when to use the plugs.

Medisafe, Bearable, Health Sync, WeatherX and Bettersleep all trying to manage my health and even my to do list TickTick stepping in to remind me to drink water.

I use migraine buddy to track my migraines. I use WeatherX to track the barometric pressure since my migraines can either be cycle related or pressure related and WeatherX does pressure better than migraine buddy.

As I've gotten older, I've found that big pressure swings trigger my migraines more, so I've been testing weatherx ear plugs for preventive migraine care. I think they're helping, which is good because it's been impossible to get my usual rescue medicine (injectable DHE 45) for several months now.

So WeatherX earplugs seem to help mitigate my pressure-change migraines, but god so they make my ears itch. And they make me think of The Wrath of Kahn, yeesh.

Pressure regulating earplugs are amazing, except for the part where I can’t hear anything when I have them in.
(For anyone wondering, I use WeatherX earplugs and they do seem to reduce migraines and pressure sensitivity, but muffle a LOT of sound (and obv. prevent headphone use, etc.).

I'm using the weatherx brand "small ears" ones and the weatherx app on my phone. I have it set to tell me if there's a pressure swing of 1.52mmHg+. When it beeps, I put in the ear plugs. I can still hear really well through them—they don't block much noise. They itch a little, though.

Hey Midwest peeps from TX to MN - judging from the way my tailbone-barometer is hurting, this week's persistent storm threat is probably gonna rock n roll. Find a go-to weather person (I like Ryan Hall Y'All or Arkansas Weather Watchers on YT) and keep an eye on 'em. Be safe.
