Webglaze was dealing with some intermittent network issues in the last few days. Yesterday our dept mail server was acting up, and webglaze outgoing emails with results were blocked. I've been told that is now fixed and queued messages should be sent out already.

Well, thanks to that post, i was reminded to update the webglaze page written more than 15 months ago, back when we had a bunch of AWS credits left over from a previous project. WebGlaze couldn't use up those credits and they expired. So we moved webglaze to an older GPU server this spring.

I apologize for not processing many webglaze requests lately. Work for research (and work in the legal arena) has been exhausting. We're fighting for human creatives on a number of different fronts, and several will be publicized in coming months. And I will find time to send more webglaze invites.

For those that tend to upload mainly images, I highly recommend using Glaze or Nightshade to help protect yourself from GenAI theft. That said, I use my phone a lot for image uploads specifically, and for that, you can use WebGlaze.

Just to be clear, webglaze runs on a server that is more than 3 years old, on NVidia Titan RTX GPUs, which you can buy on some bigger laptops. It consumes about 1/2 the power of an A100, which is the previous generation of server GPUs. Webglaze runs on < 0.5 modern datacenter GPU.

First things first, WebGlaze updated to v2.1 (about time). We do not foresee any more major updates to Glaze in the short term. WebShade is on the backburner until we can catch up to WebGlaze invite requests. We will build a new invite system by end of year.

Not only do I not use AI, I actively oppose gen AI by "poisoning" my images using WebGlaze, a project of @theglazeproject.bsky.social.
I hope this isn’t AI, bc this is the type of artistic harkening to our past of destroying Nazis, not letting them exist as passersby.

Seeing WebGlaze invites being passed around again and I want to implore artists again to PLEASE consider how these things are counterproductive, especially if your beef with AI is the ecological impact.

well... Webglaze and all Glaze/Nightshade servers and sites are down again, because Comed (the power company that delivers electricity to University of Chicago) is doing planned maintenance on electrical equipment.
The outage began at Aug 18, 8pm Chicago time, should be wrapped up by noon Aug 19.
