tauri on Linux specifically is so half baked
- broken appimages under wayland with an LD_PRELOAD workaround required
- broken on NVIDIA without environment variables (disable dmabuf renderer, disable compositing mode) due to upstream webkitgtk stuff
- system theme dosen't sync properly

it's actually even worse than using webkit. it uses webkitgtk on linux
my main complain about tauri is that they went with system-level webview instead of allowing you to use chromium
i get why they did it (binary size golf) but there is no scenario in which i want it to use webkit
