And, yes, it is even more satisfying to put the cartridge or disc into the console and even remove it, out it back into its case, and put it back into your collection. The exhibit and adventure you physically contact with and appreciate. No Downloading Required (mostly).

I decided to look up if there were any "classic style" Internet channels like this

I made the mistake of looking up if there were any "classic style" Internet channels like this.
webchnl looked like a trainwreck from what I could glance from its wiki page and X account.

I have always had an interest in TV and radio station identity, branding in general (more so those, online branding feels so insipid at times)
today they updated the set boxes we have at home and I spent an hour watching TV, one hour longer than I usually do

So yesterday I heard the webchnl Spark (along side Quant) had shutdown because of a controversy because of the program Borough Bugs, which I heard that one of the creators did something terrible, as a result Spark was forced to shut down and a hijack occurred as well from what I’ve heard.⬇️

Earlier this week, #webchnl, a streaming website that hosted indie TV channels, shut down indefinitely.
A raid attempt was discovered on its Discord server on June 4, 2026, marking the end of Webchnl indefinitely.
If you go to webch.nl, you can only see this.
Thank you for 2 years, Webchnl.

webchnl has been officially sunset.
our community grew past what anyone could imagine and we will be remembered. but we were DMCA'd last month, so we decided it's time to pull the plug.
we hope to see you again, sooner or later.

oh yeah, long overdue update btw: the DMCA was from Warner Bros. Discovery, and only affects the webchnl platform itself. No channels were individually striked.
OTVN & NJ will still be on hiatus for the time being however. I'll probably get back to it eventually, just not today.
Thx 4 your time. ❤️

In case you haven't seen my crash out on discord, to sum it up, OTVN is going on an indefinite hiatus due to webchnl getting a dmca strike. There might come a day where I go back to this some way or somehow, but it's very unlikely as it stands.
See you whenever I bring this back, ig (if ever).

Y'know, Toonbox (webchnl) had got me thinking about Knowledge Network-era BBC Kids and how it was a sort of Teletoon Retro for 2000s Teletoon (as well as a lil bit of YTV) programming mixed in with CBBC shows. And it was owned by a provincially-owned public broadcaster, which is nice.

For context, I was watching Toonbox on webchnl. It's a great successor to Teletoon circa 2007 to 2015.
Personally, I would have preferred them to also air Teletoon shows from the early mid-2000s but fwiw it's a pretty great channel.
