The last remaining police phone box in Sheffield, England. Built in the 1920s, they allowed beat police to stay in touch with their stations and housed a phone, first aid kit, and a small room that served as a temporary police cell.

The bumble bee has a thin egg yolk colored upper head stripe, the rest of the head is dark brown. Then there’s another egg yolk yellow stripe on its body, followed by a chocolate brown stripe and the butt is white. The wings are folded neatly together, one over another, on its back. In the blurry background there are spots of yellow & light pink flowers and shades of fresh green leaves of the plants and flowers around. Bumblebees speak involving multiple modes of signaling in silence, through scent, vibration, and behavior, they orchestrate complex colony life without ever saying a word. Here's an overview of how bumble bees communicate: 1. Chemical Communication (Pheromones) Bumble bees use pheromones for a variety of purposes: Alarm Pheromones: Released from the sting gland when a bee is threatened, alerting other bees to defend the nest. Trail Pheromones: Used by foragers to guide other bees to rich food sources, although this is more prominent in honey bees than bumble bees. Reproductive Pheromones: Queens emit pheromones that suppress the reproduction of worker bees and help maintain dominance. 2. Vibrational Communication Bumble bees can produce vibrations (known as buzzing) by rapidly contracting their flight muscles: Buzz Pollination: Bumblebees use specific vibrations to dislodge pollen from flowers like tomatoes or blueberries. Nest Communication: Vibrations may alert other bees about food availability or the need for more foragers. 3. Behavioral Communication Behavioral cues help coordinate activities in the colony: Trophallaxis: The mouth-to-mouth exchange of food and pheromones helps distribute information about food sources. Body Movements: While not as elaborate as the honey bee's waggle dance, some simple movement patterns may still guide other bees to food or indicate readiness for specific tasks.
