I had two 8-minute breaks during tonight’s online parents evening - and in those breaks, I managed to prep a meal and get it into the oven, so that it was ready to come out as I finished. This is definitely going down as one of my #WeeklyWins!

Got to the bottom of why a student isn't learning, and it's not maths. She's reached out now, and soon I know she'll be doing maths as part of her recovery... maths the great therapy.

What was the best part of your week?
Mine was working with year six maths group. Really lovely group of people who don't necessarily find the subject easy, but have been courageous and committed to their learning & supportive of each other.

I finished my contributions to 2 EHCP reports, all my students have updated IEPs I’ve completed personal fire evacuation plans for my PMLD class and completed paperwork for a boy sent to hospital on Friday ( he’s okay )
Now have a working fridge and some chairs

#mathstoday #weeklywins for the second lesson in a row, y9 were presented with something that they said looks scary, but smashed it within a lesson. Today we were dividing algebraic expressions, and we got as far as dividing expressions with indices. I have even had a couple say they love algebra!

#WeeklyWins has to be seeing my year 9s tackling percentage increase/decrease and reverse percentages with multipliers. Some of them arrived in y7 not knowing number bonds to 10 - seeing how far they've come is so rewarding.
