almost all fandom wikis are old and not updated and only exist because fandom disallows removing them or something along those lines (this is anticompetitive asf)

this is the most important part, what fandom doesn't do. mc wiki is free to move away and weirdgloop cant hold their data or domain hostage like fandom can

My advise to any wiki staff, especially of bigger ones:
Make your entirely own backups.
Don't trust ANYBODY outside your own admin team with that. This applies to Fandom, GG, Weirdgloop, all of them.
Having some degree of control yourself is better. We at SPA at least learned that with this outage.
