Westron #1–3 (Maciej Jankowski & Shawn McBee / Fandom Limb Media Westron Comic) executes an incredible dual-artist dynamic. Nieto handles present-day detective work in grimy grays and sharp layouts, while De Vincenzo coats 2000s Poland in sickly ambers and raw Slavic folk horror.

like the conceit of the books is that the English dialogue is 'translated' from the actual Westron, and this is then applied backwards to other fictional dialects related to Westron (so for instance the language in Rohan is given Norse roots which don't exist in the 'actual' language of Rohan)

Tom’s first name is a Westron version of the Quenya word “Tomba,” which means “voice.” I guess he got this name because of all of his singing.

Bombadil comes from an Old Westron word ”bobadil,” which means “boaster” or “braggart.”
