Mario Kart World Soundtrack (Aug 28)
What does one even say? Regardless of anything, it's one of the largest soundtracks in both quantity and quality. There is just an unfathomable number here, and pretty much none felt left behind. Just a marvel of music production.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time soundtrack (Sep 4)
A legendary (ha) collection of songs where not even one is forgettable. They're simple, maybe, but they occupy that space beautifully. I like how it ranges from the expected folksy music to creepy electronic soundscapes.

#Sonic CD Soundtrack - JP
Excellent 🪩
I'm not even sure what's left to be said about this one, it's certainly one of Sonic's best. It's probably helped by its uniqueness, being the one and only Sonic game composed by Naofumi Hataya and Masafumi Ogata.

Paper Mario: The Origami King soundtrack
Good, but lacking
Like the game itself, it doesn't put enough focus into the areas of the design that make it special. The area and battle themes are fantastic, but there's a lot of fluff that's just okay.

NieR Replicant ver. 1.22474487139... Original Soundtrack
Simply incredible 🤍
Beautiful throughout, but deeply tragic - much like the game itself. A masterpiece that understands precisely what the game is about. PLAY THIS GAME!!! LISTEN TO THE MUSIC!!!

Smash Bros Ultimate Soundtrack - Metroid remixes (Jun 4)
Pretty good 🤘
A pretty small selection for having 3(-ish) fighters in the game, but a good one. I love the variety of remixes the series has gotten, from eerie electronic to metalcore.

Kirby Air Riders Soundtrack (Mar 12)
Loved it! 🤙
All of the Air Ride mode music is INCREDIBLE! They're surely songs I won't forget any time soon. Some tracks are a little less good on their own (i.e. city trial event music) but in-game they serve it very well. [...]

The Decemberists - The Crane Wife (Jun 18)

Been a long time since I listened to some proper Decemberists, and I was shocked by how rock-ish it was. I always expected that the further back I go the more folksy it would become. It's a long album, over an hour, [...]

Death Cab for Cutie - I Built You A Tower (Jun 7th)
Hit or miss, but that's okay
It's a rarity, but there's 2 or 3 songs on here that I just can't seem to get with no matter how many times I listen. I've come to accept that, and the rest of the album is exactly what I wanted.

Sonic Rush Original Groove Rush (Sep 18)
With pure funky beaty goodness, you can't go wrong. I've played and listened to Jet Set Radio, and it gives the feeling that Naganuma really went all out once he got his hands on Sega's top series.

Ron Sexsmith - Blue Boy
Loved it 🧡
I'm gonna have to sit with this one for a bit longer but it was really good, actually a bit nostalgic. It really fit the time it came out, being the 2000's. It has an interesting variety of genres and genre mixes, and felt really personal.

Elton John - The Big Picture (Jul 5)
Fairly special
This is the first album of Elton's that I've heard in full, but it's easy to tell there's a musical magic to him. The album is assisted by a killer opener and good vibes, but does have some songs that feel a tad generic.

Jack White - Fear of the Dawn (Jul 28)
This one's a bit of a chaotic mess, both to its benefit and detriment. It's obsessed with harsh cuts and vibe changes, really hurting its cohesion. There are really good and really odd parts to almost every song, making none of them shine.

Jack White - Frozen Charlotte (Jul 27)
Some of the most raw rock I've heard in a while. If you don't like wailing guitars or vague lyrics, this isn't for you; luckily for me, those two are things I've learned to love in music. A couple songs did lose my attention, though.

Been wanting to check out some of Jack's stuff for a while and I rlly liked these two songs. It's kinda refreshing to hear some rock that balances instrumentals and lyrics, if not leaning towards the former.
