Boycott the oligarch on Feb 28, 2025? Oh yeah, no problem—haven’t bought anything today. Matter of fact, if the whole damn economy ran on my spending habits, this country would be in a Great Depression by next Tuesday. I drive less than 600 miles a year—600 miles! My car is basically a decorative piece of metal at this point. I buy gas once every two months. Meanwhile, my brakes? They rust from pure neglect. You hear that? I spend more on replacing rusted brakes from NOT driving than I do on actually driving! My car is out there falling apart just sitting still, and somehow that costs me money! Yeah, yeah, I should get rid of the damn thing, I know. But I got two dogs, I’m disabled, and I need a car for emergencies. Because let’s be real—I am not calling an ambulance in this country. You ever seen those bills?! They charge you like you’re chartering a private jet to the ER! Like, “Oh, you’re bleeding out? That’ll be 10 grand. Hope you survive the second heart attack when you see the invoice!” So yeah, I keep the car. It mostly exists to rust and get hit while parked by the next Masshole driver who’s texting while getting distracted driving in Boston’s Back Bay. And forget about spending money on anything else! Restaurants? Nah, I live in Boston, where eating out costs more than my rent. I cook better at home anyway. Movies? Shows? Maybe once every two years—because at these prices, I’d rather just listen to the dialogue through the theater wall and imagine the rest! Meanwhile, everyone else is out there, maxing out their fourth credit card on avocado toast, Uber rides, and a new pair of sneakers every three weeks, and then they wonder why they can’t retire. But me? Oh no, I’m actually saving money—you know, doing that thing we were told to do—and somehow I’m the weirdo?! I swear, if everyone lived like me, Jeff Bezos would be mowing lawns, Starbucks would be selling coffee out of a truck, and the airlines? They’d be offering free flights, just begging people to fly!
