a large dead tree trunk lies across the top of a small drop on the South Fork Sacramento River in the Shasta-Trinity National Forest. on a river big enough to paddle down (not this one though), this is a potential killer, but with good balance it's a decent bridge. at some point in the future, a heavy spring thaw runoff will move it further downstream. I'd sure love to see that much water on this splendid mountain river. the Sacramento River is the longest river in California that begins in the state.
