There was some excellent, crazy frost in Bannau Brycheiniog today. The ice was forming like flags on the windward side of the grass stems! Does anyone know what that's called? ❄️❄️❄️

Aquatic #hedgehog!! 🦔🌊
#Hedgehogs are surprisingly good swimmers - their spines are hollow so they float easily.
This one was swimming from rock to rock to get across the stream.

Frosty fields surrounding a rosy Carn Ingli at sunrise, with ancient oak trees reaching out towards the light, Pembrokeshire, Wales.

Back in the same spot in Bannau Brycheiniog six months later, still searching for #otters, only this time with more leaves, less water, and more midges. 🦦🦟🏞

That feeling when you're looking for #otters & you spot a long, dark sinewy mammal slinking along the stream, but it turns out to be a mink.
These are invasive species in Britain. When I first saw this one it had a small mammal in its mouth. Cute though. #BreconBeacons #WildWales #MammalWatching

Daubenton's #bats have a distinctive flight pattern, swooping in figures-of-eight over the water's surface to swoop up bugs. (But it's still cool to have the Echo Meter bat detector to confirm the ID). 🦇🔊

#oskarundco #Oshine #WildWales
