Today we visited the Wixárika community of Cerro de los Tigres, and participated in a event celebrating the Wixárika language. The community has made signs and books to allow children to engage with the language in school.

Literally "in/with Gringo".

Yesterday, we participated in a "linguistic landscape" event in a school in a Wixárika community called Cerro de los Tigres. We placed signs naming the different places on the school grounds in Wixárika.

UNESCO added the Wixárika Route to its World Heritage List. The Wixárika Route leads through Sacred Sites to Wirikuta or Tatehuarí Huajuyé (The Path of Our Grandfather Fire). It is a network of paths over 500 kilometers across five states: Nayarit, Jalisco, Zacatecas, Durango, San Luis Potosí.
