WotC are such a scaredycat company that they'll probably look at the online backlash and we will never have a forgotten realms novel again and it will be all your fault.

I will say....whoever in WOTC design gave us weapon manufacturing last year to later in the line with Star Trek give us engineered explosives as a payoff for that strategy in standard.

Calling actual corporate policy from the Principal Designers an "interpretation" is actually next-level coping. Wotc explicitly decoupled the mediums so video game lore wouldn't be trapped by novels.

First things first: yes, like yous said, the story of Astarion's death and turning elides the "he's a racist against the Gur" angle. But it's honestly less bad than people made it sound and it is not incompatible with that reading. Also, that was a WotC diktat anyway.
