Wind Dancer
A woman rises through a storm of palette-knife strokes, her body and sweeping hair dissolving into the wind itself

A vertically composed palette-knife painting depicts a slender woman dancing in an open, windswept landscape. Her figure occupies the center of the canvas, leaning gently backward with both arms extended outward as though balancing against a powerful current of air. Her face appears in partial profile beneath an enormous eruption of dark hair that sweeps dramatically upward and across the upper half of the image. Thick, fractured strokes of black, charcoal, gray, cream, brown, and muted blue transform the hair into streaming ribbons and scattered fragments, making it difficult to distinguish where the woman ends and the wind begins. Her fitted dark and pale clothing similarly breaks apart along the torso, hips, and flowing skirt into vigorous strokes that spiral around her body. Below, rough brown and gray marks suggest tall grasses bending in the same direction. The pale gray-blue sky is comparatively open, its heavily textured surface providing quiet space around the explosive movement of the figure. Visible ridges, scraped edges, and layered deposits of paint give the entire scene a tactile, sculptural quality.
