I've only just dug into it, but Wonderbook by @jeffvandermeer.bsky.social is a refreshing, imaginative take on creating fiction, a breath of fresh air compared to the usual focus on structure.

White Oak Books in Vancouver, Washington, now has signed copies of the Area X series, Borne, Dead Astros, Hummingbird Salamander in SF, my Ambergris novels and Veniss in fantasy, and Wonderbook in the writing craft section.

When I sold Wonderbook, there was no "comp title" that was even close, tho understand the need to grapple with comparisons. But, no, this Area X book is nothing like Lynch book, House of Leaves, that S thing, etc. It is a fully integrated image-based narrative experience that's hybrid unique.

Happy to say my illustrated writing guide Wonderbook will be published in Ukraine. Despite everything going on with the war, they are still publishing books.
(I am not accepting publishing deals in Russia for the foreseeable future.)
