Honeycomb Cross-Section Ceramic Relief Tile
#CeramicRelief #WoodFirePottery #GeometricArt #AIArt
A square ceramic tile featuring an intricately detailed honeycomb pattern in warm golden-brown and amber tones. The tile's surface is covered with raised hexagonal cells mimicking a natural beehive structure. At the center of the composition, several sculpted bees are depicted in relief, their segmented bodies and wings rendered in fine detail as they cluster together on the comb. The bees radiate outward from a central point, creating a naturalistic scene of worker bees tending to the hive. Some cells appear darker, suggesting depth or the presence of honey, while the outer cells remain lighter and empty. The glaze gives the piece a rich, slightly glossy finish with rustic earthy undertones — creamy beige at the edges transitioning to deep mahogany browns toward the center. The tile rests on weathered grey wooden planks, its slightly worn terracotta edges visible. The overall effect is both scientifically precise and artistically expressive, celebrating the geometry and industriousness of honeybee life.

The fire ban is still on but it's Beth's last week here so we decided to load the kiln anyways. Now we wait and wish for rain. It might be a while before we see these pots again.

I was on a woodfire crew for 8.5 years. I just quit this past Sept, sadly. I would have died next to that kiln.. but Ill die first before I let any man try to censor my artwork to please his pallet. 😤😤
