#Woolpack
The NYT had featured these lovely photos (credit: Owen Richards) of The Woolpack in Slad (yes, the Laurie Lee one). If there’s an afterlife, I want it to resemble this.

Ah, must’ve been ace - I’ve had the odd pint in The Woolpack! Living in Manchester is not the best training for walking around Stroud!

I did the Painswick/Slad circular walk last Sunday, including of course a stop at the Woolpack. It's was glorious in every way.

Haven't you heard yet Sue?

@reecedinsdale.bsky.social is coming back into it....as his previous character's evil twin!!!

He arrives by helicopter apparently on Christmas Eve and crash lands on top of The Woolpack!!!

Culture @ the Canal is always a cool event, if you're in #Louth #Lincolnshire on Saturday.

What you might not know is Emmerdale once re-enacted John Cusack's boombox moment from Say Anything. It was Paddy trying to get Chas's attention and I think it was outside The Woolpack.

I wasn't there long. The company had me doing relief work in various places.
I used to help out in the Woolpack sometimes too.

Should've been a picture of Amos Brearly* from The Woolpack.

*Spelling corrected after a Wikidip.
The rebranded Timothy Taylor Man looks like a BBC Media City staffer prick who moved from London and now drinks in Chorlton.

This reminds me that I ordered a pickled egg when I was at the Woolpack recently.

Couldn’t eat it! Fed it to the dog. Think i was hoping for a scotch egg!

Wasn’t Caleb’s whole thing that he wanted to see Joe’s heart break at the altar when Dawn doesn’t turn up? So why tell him the whole plan in the Woolpack? Someone has no patience #Emmerdale

Meghan markle should play the new landlady of the queen Vic, the Rovers return & The Woolpack simultaneously.

The Boot Inn and The Woolpack? 🤔
We stayed at somewhere called Stanley house down that way, it's a lovely place. 👌

Steph‘s longstanding hot take.

A lot of people still think soaps are realistic portrayals of life and that every community has its own Rovers, Queen Vic or Woolpack where people drink during the day. In reality they’d have been closed long ago after the brewery was bought out by private equity
Maybe its me but I've gotta be honest, I don't see the "builds community" argument for pubs. I've pretty much always gone in with my friends or family, and left with those same people. And it always sure seems like everyone else is doing the same thing too.

It’s the continuing influence of soaps, many people seem to think that every community has to have a Rovers, a Queen Vic or a Woolpack where everyone goes for a drink at lunchtime or after work. In reality all of them would have been shut long ago after the Brewery got taken over…

Or maybe even the Isles of Scilly league, where the Woolpack Wanderers play against Garrison Gunners (the only two teams...) about 20 times a year...
Jenrick v Yusuf. The political equivalent of Chelsea v Manchester United.
You want both sides to lose.

Ah. I've never liked the woolpack. Can't explain why, beyond the vibe doesn't feel right. Pizzas are good tho!
August 8, 2026 at 2:13 PM
Mine too, I think. And our boys are always up for a pizza at The Woolpack 🤣

You know if the Rovers was a real life pub it would have shut years ago (Not economically viable) the same goes for the Woolpack
August 6, 2026 at 8:18 AM
You know it's not real anymore don't you.

The real village and pub, (yes went there by accident when they were filming and putting the woolpack sign back up in the 80's), is now quite peaceful.

Come on, Emmerdale writers... It's about time an unknowable elder god tore through the very fabric of reality and disrupted karaoke night at The Woolpack

English Pub Owner Transforms Neglected Bus Shelter Into Village Showpiece
Molly Thompson, proprietor of the historic Woolpack pub in Chilham, Kent, spearheaded an ambitious renovation project to salvage a deteriorating bus shelter that had long marred the village streetscape. The 27-year-old entrepreneur launched the initiative after months of observing the structure's deplorable condition, which featured graffiti, roof damage, peeling paint and accumulated grime that gave the area an unsafe appearance.
