I napped a little longer and I've officially called out. No one in the office is upset at my absence, and I'm going to put my workbrain on hold.

did anyone else struggle with workbrain today or was that just me?

scratch that. group anti-photoshoot, in which you are forbidden from bringing cameras and forced to turn off workbrain

Every time I see "PDS" my workbrain thinks we're all being sent to personal decontamination stations

I'm so bad at getting back on the horse. Trying to restart workbrain after a week spent groaning in the fetal position is just. not in my skillset.

I work in industry and couldn’t be happier with my job. A comfortable paycheck, flexible 40 hours a week and I turn off my workbrain when I leave. The CPA is definitely worth it.

I’ve only dabbled in public and tax, but it was too much hassle for me.

Vibrating with too much caffeine and the knowledge of an upcoming vacation is like an eldritch horror (complementary) to my workbrain

This 100% makes sense to me, my passion and my job are both heavily in computing and the burnout is immense.

Like yeah I can probably fix your laptop but I'm gonna go work on something obscure and weird that I find fun because otherwise my workbrain isn't gonna brain at work.

sometimes being “good at my job” just means being the only one who remembered what happened two weeks ago.

HOAs are supposed to be property management, not the Karen-driven drama bullshit you typically find out in the burbs.

Sorry, workbrain is on for some reason.

Workbrain. Excel. The formatting in Word which could easily have been fixed 40 years ago...but hasn't.

... just realized I've been slipping back into full workbrain even though I'm supposed to be on hiatus for 3 weeks & change yet

Folks, I'm *great* at this hiatus thing!

Okay, in all serious, like, acting to make a change in my reality is usually how I cope with stress & nerves, so--

This fell into my lap at a unique time when I need to transition out of toxic workbrain and gaming until the early hours of the morning and losing myself in the world have felt really freeing

it's so tough this way for no reason : ( i hope you get well soon just for the sake of existing without pain! the workbrain will simply have to wait either way

Got my flu shot and COVID booster, and it's raining, so today might be the day I make a giant list of everything I've ignored during the past few months of workbrain.

Or maybe I'll surprise my husband by scanning in all the little mini photos from when he was a baby in Australia to enlarge.

im waffling bc "good at teach" is a direct relationship with "teaching takes alot of effort and attention" and i worry about burnout but that's kind of a worry either way. i wish that a language class could pull from a different pool of energy than my workbrain but ime it's that

Open office rule: if your screen is visible, your stress is also visible.

Authority shortcut: reduce decisions.

Decision fatigue = your brain gets worse at choosing after too many choices.

Example: pick 3 recurring topics in 15 minutes, then rotate them all week. #WorkBrain #ProfessionalPresence
