The #WorkandPensionsCommittee has today published its report on 'Youth employment, education and training'.

More than a million young people are not in employment, education, or training. We urge the Government to be bold, to reduce levels of NEETS, and tackle the drivers of future NEETs.

The #WorkandPensionsCommittee has highlighted the impact that experiences of poverty in childhood have on someone's likelihood to become NEET, but I wanted to ask what recognition is being given to the need to similarly champion disabled people being given greater support into employment.

Young people are not a “snowflake generation”, they face deep and systemic barriers to work, education and training.

The evidence heard by the #WorkandPensionsCommittee is clear: young people want to work, succeed and contribute, but too often the support they need simply isn’t there.

Today the #WorkandPensionsCommittee has released our final report on the Pathways to Work Green Paper, which focused on measures in the UC and PIP Bill, now the UC Bill.

The report welcomes the concessions that the Government made to the Bill, but there are still issues with these welfare reforms..
