When it's clear that we need to rejoin and public opinion is firmly anti-brexit, ploiticians start proposing half-arsed 'solutions' like CU. More fence sitting make brexit workism. Or maybe he's just another thick toff who understands nothing?

> And once freed from the false satisfaction of believing we are changing the world with our day jobs, perhaps we will be inspired to fill that hole with something real — true altruism, not its artificial Workism substitute — by actually trying to impact real people, in our communities, in real […]

Why Is Everyone In Tech So Sad? | NOEMA
A lot of people seem to be realizing that knowledge work is mostly pointless. AI might give us the pleasure of finding out what happens if an entire class of workers loses faith in their careers.

I'm still enthusiastic about my work and even who I'm working for, but I will refuse to let it define me from now on. Therefore, I don't want people to be motivated to follow me based on that alone either.

Finally, I think you and me, we both know who is profiting most from Workism, and it's […]

AI is the prick that is going to pop the bubble of Workism (a.k.a., BS jobs), we've been living in for more than two decades. What does that leave for us, knowledge workers afterwards? Time to do the things we are really passionate for, or a total loss of faith?

“What if the enlightenment from Workism, ironically, is delivered by Workism’s most revolutionary product? And what does that mean for the employees who have spent their careers praying at the Workism altar?”

"It is not called workism or tradeism, because it is a process in which a person capitalises upon wealth to secure ownership of societal assets, shifting ever more into the position of a shareholder who will claim returns from the work of others."

“Who does the religion of workism benefit? If you have no dependents or heirs, then, by definition, not them. Your workism may benefit your boss. It might especially benefit your boss’s boss’s boss and the shareholders. But does it benefit your neighbor? Does it benefit you?” —Bobby Jamieson
