THERE ARE SOLUTIONS…

While America fights over where to put the next massive AI data center, China already has them under the ocean.

Samsung is developing floating AI data centers that could move massive computing workloads offshore.

Warehouse workers at Bergen Logistics, a luxury fashion fulfillment center, are fighting to unionize.

While workers package $1,200 pieces of clothing, the company has cut back on benefits, ignored injuries, and refused measures that would reduce dangerous workloads.

Solidarity.

We don't yet know the extent of the damage done to our workforce. We continue to receive reports of past, ongoing, and future terminations. Public servants being let go chaotically with little warning. Those who remain face overwhelming workloads and wonder what acts they will be ordered to commit.

"In mid-2024, a study of 2,500 workers found that 77 percent reported decreased productivity and even higher workloads when using AI. Just under 40 percent of workers reported increased workloads caused explicitly by AI's sloppy mistakes."
Nvidia CEO Says He Has Plans to Either Change or Eliminate Every Single Person's Job With AI
Wall Street was bristling earlier this month as Nvidia, the "chip" monopoly behind the AI boom, hit a record market value of $3.92 trillion, just eclipsing Apple's record of $3.915 trillion set last D...

They are going to increase workloads.

Then they’ll remove all sick leave.

It’s already started in Minnesota.

What if I told you of a magic machine that kills salaries while increasing workloads
The publisher has cut their costs by outsourcing to this company, the company has cut their costs by using AI/low-paid staff instead of paying for a proper job, while I’ve spent hours & hours fixing the manuscript, so all the extra labour from cost-costing has fallen on me, the unremunerated author

Getting a lot of replies about "why doesn't she just do XYZ" as though the entirety of her job could be explaining the difference between "text box that lies" and "text box that tells you the truth*" to this kid, and not teaching several classes with their own topics and workloads.

This headline is misleading, if you read the article he specifically says that it's being discontinued because as he retires from judging, he's unable to find someone who is able to be a judge, implied because of scheduling & workloads, not because there's no more creative people or no one suitable.

AI Isn’t Lightening Workloads. It’s Making Them More Intense.:

"It’s not that AI doesn’t create efficiency. It’s that the capacity it frees up immediately gets repurposed into doing other work, and that’s where the creep is likely to happen."

AI Isn’t Lightening Workloads. It’s Making Them More Intense.
The technology is increasing the speed, density and complexity of work rather than reducing it, a new analysis of 164,000 people’s work activity shows.

HAPPY NEW YEAR from the ULTRAKILL team!

2024 was unfortunately a sparse year in terms of updates due to unexpected delays and underestimated workloads, but here's hoping we can make up for it and make 2025 one HELL of a year for ULTRAKILL!
