I think everyone could use a piece of cake about now.
Started with Madhur Jaffrey's recipe for carrot cake but used brown sugar, chopped candied ginger, and chopped walnuts. Also subbed powdered ginger for cardamom.

For #WorktableWednesday, a pile of old work on the bench. I'm looking through it while thinking about #AreYouBookEnough_Retro.

Got it!
Instructions for a five-point star made from triangular pieces of paper will be coming on the blog next Sunday.
As is often the case, the solution seemed obvious once found.

Well, that didn't work.
Pic is from yesterday. This morning I woke up with the solution to the problem already in my head, so you may see the star in this year's Byopia Press Advent Calendar.

About four liters of chopped mustard greens, half of what I have already frozen. I cook the mustard with onion, garlic, ginger, hot peppers, and spices; then freeze to be used in cornbread in the winter.
Doing another big batch this afternoon.
