Using VRC worlds as an example: if I see a world has its sources listed in the description or somewhere in the world I can then use this info to find the same resources myself and create something on my own. And I have! That's how I found most of the stuff I don't make myself; by worldhopping!

sorry to the guy that overheard me say ‘I don’t wanna fucking be here’ and then welcomed me to their club

it’s because I’m old and tired and miserable and wanted to go to sleep and was tricked into joining a social setting while worldhopping

(Viktorverse Lore stuff)

Ok I know this is gonna be boring and stupid to 99% of the people here but the other day my roommate was kind of confused by how the portal stuff in Viktorverse things work so here is an incredibly basic breakdown
White text on a black background that reads “The Glasson World is the “main” universe. It is the center of every other world it is in contact with. Way back in ye olden days a very powerful magic user managed to open a “door” to another world with a piece of solid anomalis that had been conjured up by alchemists. This was first contact with worldhopping. When dimensions met, the anomalis between the two naturally leveled out over the course of many years- and throughout that time, negotiations were made. Glasson gets control of a large portion of that world’s anomalis in exchange for protection. With the help of (usually less than they earn) anomalis and their most powerful magic users, Glasson sets up a protective barrier around both worlds that prevents portals from other worlds breaking through. Over time this leads to them being connected with hundreds of worlds and having many contracts with them. It’s basically a magic bureaucracy.”

After all [REDACTED] specifically has two lanes of storytelling

One where worldhopping happens with media I like (like how FFXIV's timeline is wonky for them)

The other being Gardenerstales, about the Tears (my other OCS) and the world's they live in and why it correlates with [REDACTED] so much

Just finished this, so:

I'll always beat the drum of:
store.steampowered.com/app/653530/R...

Let's stay with mystery with the beautifully weird hyperpop of:
store.steampowered.com/app/1160220/...

And for more weird:
store.steampowered.com/app/1282100/...
Séance at Blake Manor, a stylised almost Mignola comics adventure. Return of the Obra Dinn, a monochrome dithered graphics game. Paradise Killers, a sundrenched, shiny, pearlescent hyperpop explosion of decadence and plastic decay. Remnant II, managing to be legitimately weird; a worldhopping epic. The current image is of a tree-spirit boss in a twilight lit forest.

Very fun time between trying out the adventure vrc.group/WALKS.0659 event for treadmill and infinite walking sorts and worldhopping with @elalbavrc.bsky.social. Really needed it after a recent spell of wondering if it's time to wanderlust my way on outta VRC exploring -- weird how that all works out
A collage of four group photo shots by the main El Alba worldhop organizer, @yugenkivrc.bsky.social -- I'd quote-repost but it's not up on here yet, and my pics just kept to screenshots with everyone's handles in them so... best I could think to compromise!

Took virtual communion out on the swing here in ATOM by _Asylum while screenshare-worldhopping VRChat for a Discord group -- particular thanks to one friend who shared the heavy but moving song called Plowshare Prayer. #VRChat #VRChat_world紹介 #VRChatPhotography
Interior of an Atompunk retro futuristic home looking across a table flanked with red chairs and a red sofa with a television playing aesthetically-related visuals and music. Big bay windows line the walls looking out over a blue and orange sunrise/sunset sky. On the slick chrome-colored table's surface sits a plate of sparse sushi beside a tall thin wineglass, a nondescript open brochure next to a stack of papers, and a lone spinning top that looks suspiciously like the one from Inception's ending. Exterior of an Atompunk retro futuristic home decked with a few neon signs glowing out against the sunrise/sunset's cloudy sky. At the far left in the background sits a tree with rich brown bark but white drooping leaves in the style of a willow or weeping cherry tree. In the foreground to the right the neon sign reads "Bus Stop" at the top and "No Parking" underneath. Exterior of an Atompunk retro futuristic home at sunset or sunrise with the building at left third, touting the large letters "UFO" in neon spread across tall vertical lines of chrome running like stripes down the length of the otherwise red-brown building surface. The remaining two thirds to the right capture a tree with rich brown bark but white drooping leaves in the style of a willow or weeping cherry tree. From it hangs a swing with the photographer's jacket-wearing gray-haired fox-eared humanoid avatar perched in an abnormal half-squat over the seat of the swing (due to the way the seat collider interacted with the avatar's pose system). Shot from behind of a tree with rich brown bark but white drooping leaves in the style of a willow or weeping cherry tree. From it hangs a swing with the photographer's jacket-wearing gray-haired fox-eared humanoid avatar seated normally upon it, legs dangling over the endless blue sky. The tree and swing overlook the sun.

Thinking how to get concrete here, evolving worldhopping:
- tools for solidarity, "phonebook" prefab
- showcase hop variations (themes, curators, bands)
- pool ideas by relaying missed convos and new reflections for us
- maybe an almanac-style digest

Any other ideas, #vrchat #VRChat_world #FurryVR?

If not another Discord, it'll respect worldhopper autonomy as we pursue stronger solidarity. But then hm... I'm not savvy about socials, but would starting a tag for this diaspora-y special interest like the photo one provide a starting point, or just add noise? -- What to name it at that.. (1/2)
Screenshot of a Discord reply that's further contextualizing where the poster's outlook originates inspired by VRChat Filmmakers growing their scene to this recent gamewide film jam event, having once started out pretty spread out from each other. So too there are players who love exploring worlds to the point of talking about it forever - and asks how to build similar solidarity without the overhead of another Discord?

In the wake of the film jam I find myself wondering how we could better bring together all the very disparate worldhopping prioritizers spread around #VRChat - a YouTube/Twitch channel here and there, the odd vrc group, an event among others in a Discord, or efforts to evolve worldhops into more...
