#orctober day twenty-eight!! Train. AND with this week’s #tockthegnome #worldbuilding post: timeline of Orcish survival/battle training – www.patreon.com/rachelillust... ⚔️🛡️💥

#faerie #orc #orcs #battle #indiecomics #queercomics #worldbuildingwednesday #drawingchallenge
A pencil drawing of an orc child of approximately eight years of age, demonstrating fighting maneuvers with two blades (hopefully made of a practice material like wood) as others of similar stature look on. They look up in delighted but slightly overwhelmed surprise as someone off-screen calls out to them, indicated by a speech bubble containing four exclamation points.

A pencil drawing of two orcs fighting over a rustic-looking spear, both glaring as they hold it between them and try to wrest it from the other, an anime-like grumbly shape coming from the one on the left like a speech bubble.

It's time for a Forever-themed Warcraft #WorldbuildingWednesday!

Entry 52: The Skyborne!

Everyone's talking about WoW Forever and the new Skyborne elves.

Honestly, their lore is shockingly air-tight! But I'm going to offer an alternative origin for them that I'll be using in our AU.

Skyward, ho!

#tockthegnome #worldbuildingwednesday !! How far away IS Tock’s realm from the space we, the readers, occupy? www.patreon.com/rachelillust... ✨💫🌍 (+ this month’s print club details!)

#faerie #fantasyart #elf #bodypositiveart #indiecomics #queercomics
Several pencil and ink drawings layered over each other with tracing paper in-between, a photograph of a teenage human in a Victorian maid’s costume at the very bottom, mostly obscured. The drawings show three faerie women, of varying body sizes, designs, vibes, and settings, two looking toward the photograph and one looking toward the other faerie on the right, who is the only one not obscured to some degree.

Warcraft #WorldbuildingWednesday Friday Edition musings that I will probably extrapolate on later:

What if, instead of the Skyborne being Highborne from Skywall... they are just literally the Highvale Elves?

Warcraft #WorldbuildingWednesday: Thursday Snack

Elemental energy moves more easily through curved lines. This is why the Golden Ratio appears so often in nature.

Cosmic energy moves more easily through straight lines. This is why leylines and constellations are composed primarily of them.
A Magnaron in Warcraft. Look at all the swirly lines! A constellation in Warcraft of a kraken! Lots of straight lines!

Sanderson's First Law
Sanderson’s First Law Introduction I like magic systems. That’s probably evident to those of you who have read my work. A solid, interesting and innovative system of magic in a book is something that really appeals to me. True, characters are what make a story narratively powerful—but magic is a large part of what make

In Dhesa, people often wear pendants representing their patron deity. If you're a performer, you'll probably have a pendant shaped like drop of water to represent Ure. If you're a follower of Focien, you get a snowflake.

Tsal is the goddess of wind and travel. She wears the sacred boots, Mas Marodi, which allow her to move faster than the eye can see. It's said that a strong wind is simply the aftermath of Tsal racing by, and she seldom stops running.
