2/3 Tottenhill, Norfolk,in the rain. It was a joint benefice with Wormegay. The medieval rectory had been the preserve of Wormegay Priory, and as the prior was a Bishop, Henslowe styled himself a Bishop, installing a 'cathedra' at Wormegay.

St Botolph's Church at Wormegay in Norfolk. The church is Norman in origin, with the west tower dating to the 14th century. The church originally served the now vanished hamlet of West Briggs, but is now the parish church for Tottenhill. 📸 My own. #SteepleSaturday

there's a 12th century castle in Norfolk (UK) called, "Wormegay" and while I am not entirely sure how to actually pronounce it, the way it works in my mind and the ensuing visuals are pretty great

3/3 With Wormegay church as his 'cathedral', Henslowe used Tottenhill church as a family mausoleum. His mother's memorial tells us that she was descended from Thomas Arne, and 'being robbed by a trustee, became a ward of chancery, and after a long life of strange vicissitude, died at Tottenhill'.

River Nar at Blackborough heavily infested with Signal Crayfish. Interesting how much they vary in colour - some with blue claws, some red.
