#Worstminster
Pot, kettle, black! Both parties have a proven track record of abandoning the public's interests to promote their own support for oligarchic corporatist expansion. We don't have democracy any longer, as Worstminster is but a managerial hub for vested interests, supported by all senior parties.

Sadly, it's long been the case that elected MP's don't run a Titanical Worstminster. Key policy decisions have been shaped & taken by advisors & influencers, funded by vested interests since 1980. It was Thatcher's seduction by these neo-liberal saboteurs which trashed democracy & they run the show

If the mob are excluded from dictating govt. contracts, then the Tufton St. cabal of advisors & influencers, all funded by corporate vested interests, should be ousted also. They've been in the driving seat of Worstminster action now for 47 years, with elected MP's reduced to puppets on strings.

The water industry acts as a perfect metaphor for 50 years of government. Walking on the coast and along rivers, we catch the stink of excrement in our seas & inland waterways; walking past Worstminster, we detect the same stench of putrefaction!

Whenever it's held, it will be another dramatic 'Punch & Judy Show.' 'Doing the same thing over & over & expecting a different result is a sign of insanity,' - Rita Mae Brown. Democracy was sabotaged in 1980 & Worstminster has been a seat of management by & for vested interests since then.

The biggest indictment of Labour's lack of courage to tackle the real issues will be 'extreme Right' gains. Farage must be smugly laughing at yet more diversionary policies which avoid what needs to be done. Worstminster needs rescuing from 47 years of neo liberal rule, & there's no sign of it.

It doesn't really matter when the next election is. 'Insanity is doing the same thing over & over & expecting a different result,' - Rita Mae Brown. While Worstminster remains under the control of advisors, influencers, donors, the BofE & the OBR, it doesn't matter how the public votes!

Does it really matter when senior political parties have followed the same ideology for 47 years? What's democratic about such slavery to a system run by advisors, influencers, donors, the BofE & the OBR? Why are we paying for Worstminster? Minions who represent not the public, but vested interests.

I wonder when even 38 Degrees will realise that there are those of us now who see Worstminster as way beyond redemption, when all senior parties embrace the same toxoc ideology which trashed democracy as we knew it 47+ years ago.£179 million private funding to parties since 2019 is not democracy!

As the socio-economy spirals ever downwards, out of control, & our political institutions are time frozen in neo-liberal ossification, our Intelligence Services identify ecological collapse as the UK's greatest threat. As this is wholly ignored by Worstminster, it's accurate to say we're crushed.

Why is it that msm concentrates on 'street crime' when our treasury makes £325 billion per year from global money laundering? £788 billion if we include Jersey & the Cayman Islands. This is 10% of UK GDP & is considered a plus! So it's OK for Worstminster to act criminally, but not Joe Public. Hmm?
September 23, 2026 at 3:39 PM
Which is why Worstminster hasn't done what it says on the tin now for 47+ years. Thatcher's embrace of neo-liberalism was the death knell of democracy, & we now see advisors/influencers funded by corporate & external political sources running the show. Politics is just another gravy train!
September 22, 2026 at 8:30 AM
Spot on. If we wished to use an accurate metaphor, we'd say that the stench from Worstminster equals the actual stink from excrement in our rivers & seas. It's taken 47+ years to convert govt. into a managerial hub for venally greedy opportunists. No more, no less. Democracy was sold out in 1980.

The public largely haven't a clue about 'wealth.' Stats don't register the gross gap between the top 8% & the rest. 200+ UK millionaires have urged govt. to tax them to re-establish democracy, but the hold on Worstminster is as dogmatic as ever. Techno-millionaires are the worst mix of money & power

Mark Twain once accurately observed: 'We have the best government money can buy.' It's been so since 1980, when neo-liberalism's sabotage of democracy ceded control to oligarchs, external interference & the conversion of Worstminster into a puppet show with strings pulled by influencers & advisors.

What has @BBCBreaking @BBCScotlandNews @BBCPolitics @BBCWorld ever done for Scotland?
Sully Glasgow. Sully @theSNP + @scotgov Run dirty Scottish stories to bury bad #Worstminster news. Not show Commonwealth Games.

Not all MP's are tarred with the same brush. But it is reaching the point where the metaphorical stench from 'Worstminster' is equivalent to the actual stink from the excrement in our rivers & seas. Government needs rescuing from the vested interests which seized it in 1980. Real change is needed.
August 30, 2026 at 9:48 AM
Competing with the dross on social media is far from dealing with our multiple crises. Minor change is no substitute for restoring democracy to a corporately run Worstminster through advisors & influencers. Gross wealth, where billionaires have added 81% to their hoard since 2020 is the key issue.
August 28, 2026 at 8:43 AM
It would seem that once socially democratic politicians are now part of the 'do as you like as long as I'm paid' brigade. Worstminster has been unfit for purpose since 1980 when neo-liberalism re-calibrated the socio-economy to benefit the top 8%. The public have been ignored and deped since then.
August 24, 2026 at 5:01 PM
Sounds like a dinghy lifeboat, when a full sized one is needed. The major issues remain to rescue Worstminster from neo-liberalism & restore social democracy. This demands creativity, ingenuity & the kind of politics our now minion polity refuse to implement. Twiddly tweaks are insufficient.
August 23, 2026 at 2:03 PM
Time lost all meaning when frozen by the toxic neo-liberal ideology in 1980. 'TINA' - There is No Alternative', & 'No significant Change', ossified the system into a mere opportunistic zone for privileged oligarchs & corporations. Even Worstminster became a gold mine for MP's at the public's cost.
August 23, 2026 at 12:26 PM
So many of the public haven't realised that when social democracy was traded for neo-liberalism in 1980, the perks acquired by the elite extended to MP's too! Worstminster not only ceased to be a hub of government, it became a centre for opportunists to exploit. It's unfit for purpose as a result.
