Hmm. I think it might be Spencer. When he is surrounded by undead, stalking towards an evildoer with the intention of stopping them, he can be pretty intimidating. Scarlet is the runner up. She is the silent, serious sort of scary.

The bead of blood rolled across the floor, through the open doorway down a long hallway lit with thousands of pinpricks of guttering light. After so long in the faint glow of the veil wight, it took Spencer’s eyes a moment to adjust to the change in brightness. As he squinted down the long hallway, what he had assumed to be candles resolved themselves into twin flames flickering in the eye sockets of ivory skulls. The hallway was lined floor to ceiling with them, like a thousand Reggies sat neatly on a shelf. Spencer, steady as he usually was in the presence of the dead, felt slightly unnerved by the weight of their regard. He could feel their attention and the wariness that threaded through it focused intently on him, judging whether he was worthy to proceed.

Wren sighed, her breath a warm rush of air that stirred the inky tumble of curls around Spencer’s neck. In the dim lantern light, she could only make out the silhouette of his cheek, a sharp, sweeping angle that made her heart clench in her chest. He might die a grisly death or wake up a month from now and decide I’m more trouble than I’m worth. Best case scenario, we spend several happy decades together and then one of us keels over first. The question is, do I carry on being safe and miserable? Or do I do something reckless that makes me feel alive? Wren nuzzled her face deeper against Spencer’s shoulder and pressed her lips against his neck, covering the tender skin with soft kisses. She’d already decided, really, before they’d ever left the city. She could have skipped out on him a dozen times, just taken the necklace and disappeared like a whisper in a crowd, but she hadn’t. Not doing something was a choice in its own way. Now she just had to figure out how to live with it.

Yes! Love a found family. Wren is an orphan and Spencer's largish, messy-ish circle of family and friends wins her over one at a time. First it's Elton and Reggie, then Bruce worms his way into her good graces. Then the aunties basically adopt her.

Wren is a practiced liar who would fib just to get out of a boring conversation. Spencer is more honest, but he will lie if it protects someone. He also lies to ease people's pain, such as telling a loved one someone died quickly and w/out pain
