So, a Writ of Habeas Tortoise?
Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear sent a public letter to Sen. Mitch McConnell requesting a full update on his health, citing weeks of limited information since McConnell’s June 14 hospitalization. Beshear called for transparency about his ability to serve.

This is your regular reminder that authoritarianism is just domestic abuse writ large.

The Great Writ prevails!
So therefore the court finds that she does not pose danger to community or present risk of flight.

THE COURT ORDERS THE GOVERNMENT TO RELEASE OZTURK FROM CUSTODY IMMEDIATELY.

"Ms. Ozturk is free to return to her home in Massachusetts."

I think this speaks to America writ large at this point:
There are white people who think the temporary pain will be worth it if it makes their anxiety about "replacement" feel better. It won't. It will just make them more isolated, poorer and less relevant in small towns with dying universities they voted to poison.

Holy Writ.
It’s bullshit.

If someone is an arsehole in the pub, I walk away.

If someone is an arsehole in my home, they’re asked to leave.

But I have to “debate” them online?

Fuck off with that shit.

President Non Compos Mentis has no idea what the writ of habeas corpus is.
Q: Have you given any more thought to possibly suspending habeas corpus?

TRUMP: Suspending who?

Q: Habeas corpus

TRUMP: I don't know. I'd rather leave that to Kristi.

The dynamics of emotional abuse, writ large, writ nationally.
Right wing ghouls and creepy techbros very effectively tricked too many well-meaning Americans into feeling guilty about blocking assholes on social media: it’s time we stopped falling for their lies about how it’s somehow “good for us” to be exposed to hateful trash.
So weird people feel bad about curating their own social media experience.

Trumpism writ large
Kids today are learning that the fastest and easiest way to make money—the key value that has been modeled to them in America society—is to scam others, cheat your way through, and attract negative attention online that can be monetized. My endless sympathy to parents

Chris Murphy: "Donald Trump only cares about quelling violent protests, or quelling protests writ large, when it's protest against him. That's fundamentally undemocratic."

This is also a correct take. The Big AI industry writ large did very much bring this PR clusterfuck upon themselves.
hey, if AI proponents hadn’t been making up nonsense about AI tools while forcing them on us, then maybe people wouldn’t reflexively block AI tools, even when they actually work. that’s not on normies for being rational consumers. that’s on AI proponents for being systematically full of shit

The problem is that Democrats writ large don’t want to look at Musk’s obvious white supremacy bc they might have to do something about the most obvious motivating force in this country.
This is absolutely right, but the key is that Republicans would be the ones to force the issue.

Many Democrats just refuse to take the open shot at Musk. He's a ripe, rich target, and an obvious way to dramatize key issues and mobilize key voters, but some of them are still sitting on their hands.
If Louis Farrakhan came up on a few billion dollars and started bankrolling the Democratic Party people would hear about it and Republicans wouldn’t stop making Dems answer for his statements while disavowing their support.

THIS, writ big.
Remember kids, the only reason why you have been told that MSG is a bad thing is because of racism!

Imagine that says "No added Chinese!" and it will give you a better idea of what you are excited about.
I dream of a day when "No MSG" is not a selling point.
