I’ve been getting back into comics and X-men thanks to both your excellent work and your allyship to the lgbt community. It’s a comfort that a series I grew up loving is being handled by you and I don’t have to worry about the author hating my community. So thank you for keeping my childhood alive.

Unsolicited writing advice, no. #766: Writing is a community. Participate in it if you can. Engage with other writers. Lift them up, and they’ll do the same. Try to go it alone, or treat other writers as rivals, and you’re more likely to sink than swim.

And Wikipedia is a community who updated, debate, search etc. what they produce. They have high epistemic standards. Good writing — so far an encyclopedia can be good writing.

I'm so disgusted by the times attack on the trans community during pride month, I've started summarizing my years long notes on their bullshit and writing up an article.

- Go to book launches and readings in your community
- Proactively practice craft by reading about it, applying what you read, and discussing it in your community
