I’d rate my July as a success. Sales on Amazon were meh. 1 sale and 1400 KU page reads. The @itch.io #scifi bundle in did pretty well with 18 sales. The Smashwords summer sale was ok too. 22 total sales with 4 being paid. Best thing was I clicked publish on Ariana Takes Command!

![masts, lowered like wings across its bow. No sign of Bedalia. I inwardly queried Second. [She is hiding,] it told me. [Near our sky.] I cast my eyes up and saw only darkness. “Excuse me, you can’t go in there—” The voice came from my aft. I whirled. A station guard frowned at me from the hall. Overlights had swapped to emergency protocol, but spotlights illuminated our corridor. I was standing half out of one. The guard approached, clack of his steps echoing over the dim claxons of alarms elsewhere. “You can’t be here. This level needs to remain clear! We have specific instructions—” I turned into the light. The man stopped speaking. He sketched the sign of the One Sun in the air, stammered an apology, and turned back the way he’d come, breaking into a flat-out sprint before rounding the bend. I felt my lips twist. My reputation precedes me, I thought. Yet, dumb as that guard who’d just tried to stop Ledas Starfire from entering her own trap, I went inside. (Hindsight tempts me to say something about plucky optimism, or unshakable faith in my abilities, or, perhaps, some inbred arrogance stamped into my stinking 12Fam genes... but it was simpler than that: I had nowhere else to go.)
