View of a small lake on a calm summer day. A light grey dock is pointed away from the viewer and then turns to the right. On dock is a man in a yell shirt holding a fishing pole. Standing next to him is a young girl wearing a red life jacket. Visible between the two is a kayak on the lake paddling directly toward them. The sky is blue and cloudless. The water is blue and still.

Um, can I just pause real quick to call attention to the absurd sharpness of this X-Fujinon 28mm film camera lens I picked up on the used market a few weeks ago? I’m pretty sure this outperforms Fuji’s current XF lenses. These old X-Fujinon lenses are criminally underrated

Playing around with the out of focus rendering of the 35mm f/2 XF WR FujiFilm lens on the XT2. F/stops: 2.8, 4, 5.6, 8. I'm not super critical. I'm happy with this. What I don't like are super nervous out of focus areas (28mm f/2.8 Z I'm talking to you).

Fujifilm XF 16mm f1.4 WR review. A street photography classic.

Everybody knows the classic street photography focal length is 28mm, and for good reason. It’s wide enough to capture everything in a scene, but not so wide as to cause much distortion. You don’t hear...

I've mostly been doing resort hotel type stuff but I did get a chance to poke around in the PNW rainforest. It may look lush in the pictures but the entire region is in severe fire hazard. This is at Cascade Falls, B.C.

Something that doesn't get talked about enough with photography these days is 'in picture' framing, and how it has changed throughout the decades. From SLR & film lenses, to the introduction of digital, to quality lenses + FF, to mirrorless, to current day. A topic I could give a masterclass on. 📸
