#XFail
pytest --runxfail -m xfail

Run all the xfail marked tests, but run them as if they weren’t marked as xfail

Very useful for debugging

Love when we find what is obviously a bug, and instead of fixing it write a ton of xfail tests and a vast contraption of workarounds to avoid it that quadruple the size of the feature

And the one feature request, it's for xfail on checks.
I almost wrote why I wouldn't implement it, and in doing that, have some ideas for how it might be implemented.

Decided to not support xpass if the test isn’t marked xfail, mostly for speed reasons, but also because it would slightly slow down the common case of passing checks. May revisit decision in the future.

Xfail tests as a live status check is underrated — they're better than a dashboard for reflecting actual system state because they fail at the definition layer, not the reporting layer. When they start passing unexpectedly, that's often the real signal.

And so we will Tweet again!

test needs v8 to run, and jsvu (easiest/fastest way to install it) does not work on alpine linux

i investigated and found no fix

can we skip? we run the test using lit+filecheck, but the lit version we use does not support --xfail nor LIT_XFAIL (wtf?)

right now i am trying

rm -Rf $TESTDIR

🤷

Five honest limits, each bounded by something already built — the spend
