This "sudden push for Wayland", also known as what's been happening for the past decade, has nothing to do with XLibre existing. The project is really cool, but portraying XLibre as what's forcing the hand of projects is nonsensical at best. Read the blog posts of the desktops

On #ArchLinux, you can now get both the “oldstable” #XLibre 25.0.x and the latest “beta” 25.2.x packages from our XLibre third-party repo.
Please see xlibre-arch.github.io for setup instructions. The old x11libre.net/repo/arch_ba... repo has been removed in favor of the new repos.
